A veteran of the Edinburgh music scene but a newcomer as a solo artist, Frazzappa has been writing, recording and playing music for the better part of two decades.
Being old enough to remember how restrictive and difficult it was to release music in the days before broadband and affordable professional standard home recording, Frazzappa has decided to see if its possible to record and release music entirely online from his bedroom (well, with maybe an occasional CD to those who want one).
Spending his entire musical career to date being part of bands, Frazzappa is well acustomed to working collaboratively in all aspects of creation; from song writing, playing, recording, design, management and PR but for this project, wanted to see if he can successfully wear all these hats himself. If he can't, it won't be from lack of trying as he's spent the last couple of years learning how to record, mix and master music as well as teaching himself Photoshop and music management.
A founding member and a main songwriter of Alternative Folk/Rock act, The Stantons, Frazzappa draws from a wealth of experience in creating his first collection of solo material in the soon to be released E.P, "Historical Accounts & A Cautionary Tale".
"The artists I tend to like all have a rich story telling aspect to them" he says on what influences his music and this is demonstrated in the songs which make up the E.P. Delving into the history books to write about characters like Gregor MacGregor, a soldier from his home town of Edinburgh from the 1800's who conned people into investing in a fictional Central American country called Poyais of which he claimed to be the Prince of. Mark Kellogg, a reporter who died with General Custer during the Battle of Little Bighorn and is considered to be the first reporter to die in the line of duty and to the hunt and execution of Blackbeard the pirate under the command of Lieutenant Robert Maynard.
Live, his band's have supported acts such as KT Tunstall, Geneva, Annie Christian and The Southern Tennant Folk Union whilst he's also written songs with members of Blueflint and Dropkick.
