Story behind the song
A song written in 1991 about war and the loss of someone. I wrote this at the request of a P.O.W. organization in our area. It has reference to the Vietnam War in it. The reason I am posting it now, is due to the loss of my dear friend and fellow musician, JJ. JJ was a sax player in my old band for a lot of years, and I don't think any other musician I have ever met has had as much heart and soul as he did. My Friend will not be forgotton, for the beauty of his music will touch our souls forever.

P.O.W Song (c) 1991 Letha Allen Dad spells dad and that is what I had before Vietnam He lived with me and mom Then suddenly one day War called my dad Away And when the war was through He was a P.O.W And P.O.W , Means Daddy's home no more they sent him with a gun To fight, in Vietnam and POw Means I don't know what to do To bring my daddy home, I bet he feels so all alone Since he's a P.O.W Dad spells dad and that is what I had before Vietnam He lived with me and mom Then suddenly one day War called my dad Away And when the war was through He was a P.O.W And when the war was through He was a P.O.W
